How do I access the Internet from the library?

You will need a library card that you can sign up for (free of charge) at your local library. If you want to use computers only and will not want to borrow materials, you can choose to get an Internet-only card.

Once you get a card, you will need to log in using your library card and pin (last four digits of your phone number) and then choose "Internet Explorer" from the Menu Options

All Contra Costa County Libraries have:

  • public PCs (no Macs) with Internet access and Microsoft Office suite
  • free wireless Internet with wireless printing (fee applicable)

The computer labs at Dougherty StationLafayette, Pleasant Hill, and Walnut Creek are open during Library hours.

You can make a reservation for an adult or teen computer to ensure a computer is available when you need it (you cannot reserve children's computers).
